Bye-bye, Microbiology!

Hey everyone!
I'm just popping in (finally, I know!) to tell y'all that I'm finally on Christmas break!
I survived the awful Microbiology and all of my other classes! Words cannot express how relieved I feel right now! It feels SO good to be done with this semester.
I will be blogging a lot more during break! PROMISE. I am so so so excited to start crafting again! I swear, I've been having withdrawals!
I hope you all are enjoying the beautiful Christmas season!

Much love,

I'm alive, I promise :)

I promise I didn't fall off a cliff or anything. Haha.
I'm just popping in to apologize for SUCH a huge bloggy break! I came back to college in August, and since then, I have just been so busy with homework and everything else that comes with the second year of Nursing school.

I will be back this week some of the things I've been working on lately. I definitely haven't stopped crafting (I don't think I could ever do that! haha) but unfortunately, there has been a major slow down. I wasn't able to do the craft show, but I am hoping to sell some Christmas cards at one at the beginning of December.

I hope you have all been absolutely wonderful! Have a splendid week!

P.S. Happy Halloween! Trick-or-treaters are supposed to be coming to my dorm, and I'm so excited!

It's the weekend, babayyy.

Happy Friday, everyone!

I'm back with a quick happy birthday card! I've been making tons of cards this week in preparation for a craft show in October. Which, by the way, I'm SUPER SUPER PUMPED about! My first time selling at a craft show! I seriously can't wait!

I made this card with my new Hero Art stamps called Friendly Flags. I'm quite sure these aren't a new release, but I just bought them and have been obsessed with them. I LOVE the flag banners.

I used pink twine from My Mind's Eye. This stuff is GREAT! And it comes in so many pretty colors!

Thanks for letting me share with you! I'm off to a weekend of lifeguarding, a movie night with friends, and weddings! :)

I just love stamps.

I've been playing around in my scrapbook room a lot lately with, you guessed it, new stamps. I received some new stamps in the mail this week, and let me tell you, it makes. my. day. :) Here is one card I made with these stamps by Hero Arts. My mom actually picked them out!

I also ordered a stamp from ElvieStudio on Etsy that says, "I made this just for you" to stamp on the backs of cards. It is seriously theeee cutest. You should check out her other items here! :)

I also thought I'd share that I'm making a trip to Archiver's tomorrow, which I'm SUPER excited about! I am in serious need of some stuff, and of course I love all of the ideas I get just by walking in!

Have a wonderful Friday!

Sewing sewing sewing.

I have always adored stitching on cards and layouts, but I have never been able to use my mom's sewing machine for fear of ruining it. Two weeks ago, though, my oldest sister let me borrow hers for a while! I have been in sewing machine heaven! Haha. Here are a few cards I've been working on with it! :)

For you:

I recently received my Hug Snug seam binding in the mail and I'm in LOVE with it!

I love adding pins.

A Sympathy card:

And lastly, sending you love:

I loved the cards on this blog, so I decided to make a similar version. I used my sewing machine to stitch the heart strands together. The seam binding was dyed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and Distress Inks. I stocked up on a few sympathy cards by request of my dear mother :) It was cold & rainy hear today, so it was the perfect day to paper craft!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Enjoy your Wednesday!

P.S. A few changes will be coming soon to my blog! I'm excited!

Pink Melon.

Watermelon is one of the signatures of summer, don't you agree? I created this mini chipboard album for an amazing friend of mine for her birthday, and I decided to use only recent summer photos. When I found the perfect pink-coral paint to use for the chipboard, I couldn't help but smile when I read the name: Pink Melon. Even more perfect.

The front cover:

The first two "pages." I love adding the mini envelope with a little note. The picture on the right is of my best friends from high school on the night we all came home from college for the summer. Reunited. :)

Wedding time. My best friend is pictured with me in the photo on the left, and the picture on the right is of my sisters, Jamie, and I.

I am in love with this quote.

Stamp from Technique Tuesday. I love the font! (Please ignore our craziness.)

Last page.

Days like these really do make me smile. I hope you are having a lovely week, and thanks so much for stopping by! :)

Is there a "pause" button for summer?

Summer is going way too fast. Agree?

I've been crafting a lot this week, mostly working on my Smash Book. Do YOU have a Smash Book? If not, you are seriously missing out. It's basically my favorite thing ever. The video advertisement is just plain adorable (youtube it!), and the book itself is to die for. I'll be posting a few pages from mine soon!

This is a thank-you card I made a few weeks ago. This stamp is a very large square originally, but I embossed it and punched it with a scalloped circle punch.

Next is a graduation card I made for a very special girl!

This card could even be used for new babies and weddings, too.

Thanks so much for letting me share with you. I hope your week is going wonderfully. I'll be back soon!

Mini-album for a sweet friend.

Happy Thursday! This week is going by so quickly!

Today I'm sharing a mini-album that I made for a good college friend of mine, Laura. She wasn't able to go home for Easter break, so she spent the weekend at my house! Laura and I are actually going to be roommates next year, so it was great "bonding time." We spent the weekend coloring Easter eggs, baking cupcakes, crafting, and spent lots of time outside. Oh, and we might've gotten a little homework done ;)

Laura's favorite color is yellow, so I gave a Maya Roads chipboard album a white base coat and a light yellow top coat. I sanded and distressed to reveal a little white underneath! This is the album cover.

On the first page, I added a mini envelope and wrote a little note for Laura. The photo on the right is of all of my sisters and Laura on Easter Sunday in our Easter dresses! :)

Detail of a page. I am in love with these stamps from Technique Tuesday.

The last pages of the album. The "precious" letters are chipboard stickers painted white with added Distress Stickles in Picket Fence. I hand-painted the rest of the quote.

I'm really excited for Laura to receive this in the mail because I don't think she's expecting anything at all! That's always the most fun :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Late-Night Crafting

Hi! I hope you are having a wonderful start to your morning!

Last night, I was in somewhat of a "crafters block." I couldn't decide on a design or papers or anything. Until about 12 am. So, I started making cards then! And surprisingly, these are two of my favorite cards I've made for a while.

On this first card, I used my new binding edge border punch from EK Success. I am in love with this punch! The pins inserted into the ribbon are actually corsage pins from Walmart.

On the second card, I used a Hero Arts Clings called "Blooming Meadow." I found this stamp in my drawer, and I realized I hadn't used it yet! So at 12:30 am, I started this card. Haha. I used a couple of different colors on the stamp to add interest.

What time of day is your favorite time to craft? :)
Thanks so much for stopping by!

I'm officially a blogger!

Hi! I hope you are having a wonderful day!

This is my first EVER blog post, and let me tell you, I'm pretty excited. I've wanted to create a blog for a long time, but as a student in nursing school, there hasn't been much time.

Thank God for summer. :)

I created this blog to share my love for card-making, scrapbooking, and life. I would LOVE to hear your thoughts and opinions, so please share! I'm SO glad you stopped by.

A little about myself: I live on a farm in Nebraska and have a big family, four sisters and a brother. My family means the world to me! Besides crafting, I love to run, play piano, be outside, and bake. (especially cupcakes!) I'll be starting my sophomore year as a nursing student in the fall, and someday I hope to work in pediatrics because I absolutely ADORE children.

The first card I'm sharing is a simple thank-you card I made for my sister.

I used a heart punch on a few different scrap papers, folded along the middle, and adhered. The sentiment is a rub-on from my stash. I added a few rhinestones to the center of two of the hearts to brighten it up!

Thank you so much for letting me share this with you! I hope you are having a sweet first day of summer!
